• ՓՈԽ.-Ցոյները և ռումինացիք ունին ար-ցիվո՛ւրիօն (άρτζιβούριον), արցի՛վուրցի (άρτζίβουρτζι), արթէզֆօռթէզ ևն ձևով բա-ռեր, որոնք փոխառեալ և յարմարեալ են մեր Առաջաւորաց Պահոց անունից, որի վրայ այ-լակերպ առասպելներ են պատմում։ Առաս-պելի հնագոյն վիճակը գտնում ենք Ճառ ընդ-դէմ Հայոց խորագրով յունարէն ընդարձակ մի գրուածքի մէջ, որ վերագրւում է ԺԱ-ԺԲ դարից Սահակ անուն մի հայ կաթուղիկոսի, բայց հաւանօրէն Եւտեմիոսի (ԺԲ դարից) կամ Կալլիստոսի (ԺԴ դարից) խարդախու-թիւնն է (տպ. Migne, Patr. gr. հտ. 132)։ Այս Ճառի մէջ մի առանձին գլուխ կայ՝ որի վերնագիրն է Γερί τῆς σατανιϰῆς νηστείας τοῦ αρτζιβουρίον (Յաղագս դիւական պահոց արցիվուրի, Ա. գլ. ժդ)։ Ահա թէ ի՛նչ է պատմւում յիշեալ գլխում. «Սարգիս անու-նով մէկը, Հայոց մոլորութեան վարդապետ, մի շուն ունէր արցիվուր անունով։ Սակայն այս բառը նշանակում է «առջևից գնացող» (առաջաւոր)։ Սարգիսը սատանայի ազդեցու-թեամբ այս շունը գործ էր ածում իբրև իր ռաւստեան աւետաբեր և յայտարար, ամէն անգամ՝ երբ մի գիւղ, մի քաղաք կամ մի ուրիշ տեղ երթար, ուր իր մոլորութեան ժան-տախտից բռնուած աշակերտներ էին բնա-կում։ Երբ սրանք տեսնում էին շանը, յա-ջորդ օրը թափորով մի քանի մղոն տեղ ընդ առաջ էին գնում իրենց վարդապետին։ Մի անգամ՝ երբ շանը սովորական պաշտօնով մի տեղ ուղարկեց, գայլերը ճանապարհին պատառեցին նրան։ Սարգիսը երկրորդ օրը գնալով նոյն տեղը և տեսնելով որ ոչ ոք իրեն ընդ առաջ չի եկել, ինչպէս սովորութիւն էր, սաստիկ բարկացաւ։ Երբ քաղաք մտնելով ի-հասած, մարդիկ ուղարկեց փնտռելու համար և գտնուած ոսկորներից գուշակելով թէ գայ-լերն են կերել, հրամայեց ամենայն Հայոց՝ որ ամէն տարի, սահմանեալ օրեր, նրա մահուան համար ծոմ պահեն ու մեծ սուգ բռնեն. և այս պասը կոչեց արցիվուրց պաս»։-Նոյն առաս-պելը գտնում ենք նաև Աֆթիմիոս Սեկտատի-նոսի Զէն կատարեալ գրքում. Նիկեֆորոս Կալսթասի Պատմութեան և Աթէնքի Միլե-տիոս արքեպիսկոպոսի Եկեղեցական պատ-մութեան մէջ, որ Ջենատիոս Սքոլարիոս սար-կաւագի ձեռքով համառօտուելով տպուած է նախ Զմիւռնիա (1861) և յետոյ արաբերէն թարգմանութեամբ՝ Երուսաղէմ (1867), այն ժամանակի յունաց Երուսաղէմի պատրիարք Կիւրեղի հրամանով։ Սրա իններորդ գլխի թարգմանութիւնն ունի Երուսաղէմի Սիօն ամ-սագիրը (Չ տարի, 1871, մայիս, թիւ 5, էջ 100), ուր մեր բառը դարձել է յն. արթէզֆոո-թէզ կամ արթէզֆոռ։ Առասպելի մի ուրիշ ձևն ունին ռումինա-ցիք, որոնց մէջ բառը դարձել է արցիվուրցի։ Ռումին առասպելի մէջ արցիվուրցի է կոչւում մի հայ աւագերէցի շունը։ Աւագերէցը անտա-ռով անցնելիս մոլորուել և այդ շան միջոցով կարողացել է գտնել ճանապարհը։ Հայերը աւդ շունը սրբերի կարգն են դասել և ի պա-տիւ նրա՝ Ս. Սարգսի բարեկենդանին պաս են պահում և Զատկի թաթախման երեկոյին էլ նրան նուիրուած մի տօն են կատարում (տե՛ս Պ. քհ. Մամիկոնեան, Ռումանահայոց ներկան և ապագան, Կալաց 1895, էջ 44-45)։

• Ուղիղ մեկնութիւնը տուաւ նախ ԳԴ, յե-տոյ Պատկ. Maтep. I. 15։-Bugəe IF 1. 452 դնում է *sruad-ձևից. հմմտ. յն. ῥυας, -ἀδος «հոսուն». նշանակութեան տարբերութեան համար հմմտ. յն ῥόδην «հոսուն, առատ», ֆրանս. effusion de, cocur, հյ. առատութիւն սրտի. ըստ Bugge հյ. բառը հնապէս *առուատ ձևն ունէր։ Patrubány ՀԱ 1908. 213 հնխ. pro-մասնիկով da «տալ» ար-մատից։ Գաբրիէլեան ՀԱ 1910, 365 ա-ռու, լորդ, յն. լտ. ru, ruo «հոսիլ»։ Թի-րեաքեան, Արիահայ բռ. 61 առատա-նալ «գրգռուիլ» ջոկում է սոյն առատ «լորդ» արմատից և հանում ա բացա-սականով պհլ. rad «ազնիւ» բառից։
• ՓՈԽ.-Վրաց. არტიო արտիո «առատ, շատ» փոխառեալ է հայերէնից, ինչպէս ցոյց են տալիս նախ ա յաւելուածը՝ որ հայ-կական է և երկրորդ «շատ» նշանակութիւնը որ չկայ պարսկերէնում, ուտ. arat՝ «արզա-ւանդ, բարեբեր»։

• (ո և ի-ա հլ.) «գետակ», վտակ. 2. ջրի ճամբայ, անցք, փոս, երակ». առ հասա-րակ յետին. հներից ունինք հետևեալ վկա-յութիւնները. Առուս աղբանոցաց (Ոսկ. մ. գ. 4). Զառոա տղմոյն ձգել (Ոսկ. յհ. բ. 30), Մեծութիւն թէ առուով գայցէ (Սաղմ. կա. 11). առաջին երկուսի մէջ առու «անցք» նը-շանակութեամբ է, երրորդի մէջ՝ թէև յն. հա-մապատասխան հատուածը ունի «հոսեսցի» (իέη), բայց հայերէնը դարձեալ «անցք» նշանակութիւնն ունի։ Նոյն իմաստով են նաև առուահանք «ջրանցք, քանքան» Եւս. պտմ. բ. 6, էջ 89, առուամէջք «ակօս, նեղ անցք» Թուոց իբ. 24. Ագաթ. ըստ այսմ առու «գե-տակ» նշանակութիւնը հնից աւանդուած չէ, որչափ թոյլ են տալիս ենթադրել ՆՀԲ-ի մէջ բերած օրինակները. ուստի և յայտնի չէ թէ առու բառի նախնական նշանակութիւնը կա-պուած է հոսելո՞ւ գաղափարի հետ, թէ փորե-լու, անցնելու։

Բժշ. ըստ ոմանց «կոտեմ, ջրկոտեմ»։ -Սրանից տարբեր է սորեկ «որթ», որ եբրայական փոխառութիւն է։ Կայ նաև գւռ. ասորիկ, սորեկ, սորուկ, սորոորին «կտաւատի մի տեսակ՝ որից ձէթ են հանում», հունդը նման է կոտեմի կամ կո-րեկի. ըստ Ախք.՝ վայրի մի խոտ է (տե՛ս Ազգ. հանդ. Ա. 138). բայց չգիտեմ թէ կապ ունի՞ նախորդի հետ։
• ՀԲուս. § 168 ասում է. «Զարմանալի կամ հետաքննական բան մ'է, որ մեր ասորեկ կոչածը՝ Ափրիկեցիք ալ հիմայ ասուրիկ կոչեն, ըստ վկայութեան Ա-տանսոն բուսաբանի, որ շատ տարիներ կեցաւ ի Սենեկամպիա»։ Ֆերահեան, Բազմ. 1931, էջ 141-2 խօսելով բառիս վրայ, գտնում է, որ նոյն է լտ. eru-ca, ֆրանս. roquctte, իտալ. ruca, տճկ rokka salata, գւռ. ճարճիր, նարճրակ, արաբ. [other alphabet] ǰirǰir, ինչպես դրել եմ ես էլ։ Այս բոյսը շատ նման է կոտեմի և ջրկոտեմի, որի համար էլ երբեմն շփոթ-վում է նրանց հետ։ Բոլորովին տարբեր է գւռ. սորեկ, սորուկ «լտ. sorgham, sa-ricum» (տե՛ս իմ Գւռ. բառ.)։

• հին և ընտիր բառ, որից ունինք մի քանի հարիւր ածանցներ. հնագոյններից յիշենք հետևեալները. աստուածառարռառ Ագաթ. Վեցօր. Կորիւն. աստուածաբեր Կո-րիւն Ագաթ. աստուածագէտ Ոսկ. Սեբեր. յետին են աստուածունի «աստուածային» ևնևր հաւ. 315. աստուածարել, աստուածա-րեալ ևն՝ ար մասնիկով. հմմտ. մեծ-ար-ել, հրաժ-ար-իլ։-Մեր քերականութիւնները սո-վորեցնում են թէ Աստուած բառը նշանակե-բով «ճշմարիտ Աստուածը», հոլովւում է Աս-տուծոյ, յԱստուծոյ, Աստուծով, իսկ «չաս. ռուած» նշանակութեամբ հոլովւում է աո-տուածոյ, աստուածոց, աստուածով ևն (տե՛ս Բագրատունի, Քերակ. զարգաց. էջ 24), բայց այս կանոնը սխալ է։ Ստոյգն այն է, որ ա-ռաջին նշանակութեամբ բառս երբեք ամ. բողջովին չէ գրուած մեր ձեռագրերի մէջ, այլ միշտ պատուվ՝ Ած, Այ, յԱյ, Ավ։ Օրինակի համար կրկնագիր Ագաթանգեղոսի մէջ ած, ოծն. ιծ, զածս պատահում է 10 անգամ, իսկ բարդութեանց մէջ 20 անգամ և միշտ գրուած է ած. սեռական այ՝ 20 անգամ. բա-ցառական յայ՝ 3 անգամ. ընդամէնը 53 ան-գամ և միշտ պատուով (տե՛ս իմ յօդուածը ՀԱ 1913, էջ 4)։ Այսպիսի համառօտագրու-թիւններով ի հարկէ կարելի չէ իմանալ բառի ճիշտ ընթերցումը. բայց կարելի էլ չէ առանց պատճառի պնդել թէ հին հնչումն էր Աստու-ծոյ։ Ընդհակառակը՝ յոգնակի հոլովները, չաստուածոյ սեռականը, անաստուած, ան-աստուածի, անաստուածիւ ձևերը և հայերէ-նի ընդհանուր ձայնափոխութեան օրէնքները ցոյց են տալիս թէ հին հայերէնի մէջ աստու-ծոյ ձևով մի բառ չէր կարող գոյութիւն ունե-նալ և թէ աստուած՝ ամէն նշանակութեամբ էլ հոլովւում էր աստուածոյ, աստուածով ևն. Մեր ձեռագրերում կան արդէն մի քանի դէպ-քեր, որոնք վերի կանոնին հակառակ են. այս-պէս՝ էջմիածնի Կարինեան թ. 526 ձեռագրի (ՋՉ=1457 թուից) մագաղաթեայ պահպա-նաևում գտնում ենք աստուծոյն ամբողջա-կան գրութիւնը (Գրծ. ե. 43, որ տպագրում աստուածոյն է. Մ. վրդ. Մաքսուդեանց ՀԱ 1913, 312). կրկնագիր Ագաթանգեղոսում՝ էջ 52բ գրուած է աստուծոց և 30 ա աստու-ծոցն (Աճառ. ՀԱ 1913, էջ 4). բայց երեք պա-րագային էլ խօսքը չաստուածների վրայ է և հետևաբար՝ ըստ ենթադրեալ կանոնի՝ պիտի լինէր աստուածոյ, աստուածոց։-Աստուծոյ, ձևը միջին հայերէն է, որ կանոնասորապէս յառաջացած է հնագոյն *աստուածոյ սեռա-կանից, միջին ա-ի անկման օրէնքը հաստա-տուելուց յետոյ. *աստուածոյ ձևը տառացի գրուած չլինելով անհետացել է և ժողովրդա-իսկ հնագոյն բնագրերի մէջ։ (Այս գաղափա-րը յայտնած և պաշտպանած է Meillet. վեր-ջին անգամ տե՛ս իր Altarmenisches Fle-mentarbuch1913, էջ 20. Հիւբշման ևս համա-ձայն է նրան (անձնական). միայն Pedersen ծում է թէ աստուծոյ հին հայերէնի յատուկ մի ձև է և յառաջացած է երաժշտական շեշ-տի պատճառով *աստուածոյ նախաձևից։ Բայց այս պարագային ինչո՛ւ «չաստուած» նշանակութեամբ մնաց աստուածոյ։
