Սեբ. «խմորի (կամ նտև կարագի) գունտ», Հմշ. «ընկոյզի ամ-բողջ դուրս եկած միջուկը», Պլ. «գնտաձև դի-զած», կամ «խոշոր կտորով», Հմշ. Մշ. Ոզմ. Վն. «սայլի, ճախարակի, գութանի և ջաղաց-քի անիւ, մանաւանդ անիւի գունդ մասը, որի մէջ անցած է սռնին», Ալշ. կունդ, յգ. կընդ-ներ «սայլի ակ»։ Այս վերջինը գործածւում է նաև կ նախաձայնով. այսպէս՝ հին մատե-նագրութեան մէջ կունտ, կունտն, նոր բաբ-բառներից Ոզմ. կօնտ։ Այս հանգամանքը կարող էր կարծել տալ թէ կունտ «անիւ» տարբեր բառ է. բայց հմմտ. գւռ. թրք. top (թօփ) «սայլի անիւ», որ բուն նշանակում է «գունդ, գնդաձև» և գործածական է նաև մի քանի հայ գաւառականների մէջ (օր. Ղրբ)։ Սրանցից դուրս ունինք նաև Ասլ. Պլ. գունղ և Ռ. քունդ «բթամիտ» նշանակութեամբ, ո-սից յատկապէս գունդգլուխ «հաստագլուխ, բթամիտ»։ Բառիս հետ համաձայն է գալիս պրս. [arabic word] kund «բութ, գուլ, հաստ, ոչ-սուր (դանակի համար գործածուած). 2. կորովի, քաջ, զօրաւոր», որից փոխառեալ են չաղաթ. [arabic word] ︎ qund«խոշոր, կոշտ, ծանր», օսմ. kund «ուժեղ, զօրաւոր», ույգուր. kóndek «կոշտ. տձև». ալթալ. kund «կոշտ, ուժեղ, բիրտ» (տե՛ս Vámbery, Etym. Wört. էջ 97), արե-վել. թրք. [arabic word] kund «կոշտ, ծանր» (Pavet de Court. Dict. Turc-Or.)։ Պարսկերէն բա-ռի հետ համեմատւում է սանս. kantha-«գուլ» (Horn, § 868). և որովհետև Ասլ. Պլ. գունդ ձևը կարող է ծագած լինել նաև կունտ ձևից, ուստի կարելի է կարծել, որ կունտ փո-խառեալ է պրս. kund բառից, իբրև բոլորո-վին տարբեր բառ՝ ծանօթ գունդ բառից։ Այս խնդիրը կարօտ է մեկնութեան։-Գունդ նշա-նակում է նաև «մահմետականների մարգա-րէն՝ Մահմետ» և այս իմաստով իբրև ծած-կալեզու գործածական է Պօլսի բարբառում (անշուշտ գլխին կապած փաթթոցի ձևից առնուած). սրա հին վկայութիւններն ունին Շնորհ. եդես. էջ 59 (Թէ ոչ ուժով իւրոյ բազ-կին կամ զօրութեամբ իւր պիղծ կընտին) և 1567 թուին Կաֆա գրուած վկայաբանական մի գրուածք (Դարձեալ տարան տունն գըն-տին, ուր սոխտաներն բնակէին). Նոր վկ. էջ 405։-Նոր բառեր են՝ գունդուկծիկ, գուն-դուկլոր, գունդուկ, գունդուլ, գունդուլուկ, գունդուկոլոշ, գնդալիւր, գնտագազ, գնտիկ, գնտիչ, գնտլել, գնտլիկ, գնտոց, գունդա-պուր.-տ>ծ ձայնափոխութեամբ ձևացած են՝ գնծիկ, գունծիկ, գունծուլ, գունձուլ։

[arabic word] ǰunūd) «բա-նակ, զօրագունդ»։ Հայերէն բառը կապ չու-նի նախորդ գունդ «կլոր» բառի հետ, իբր սրանից ձևացած նմանութեամբ։ Իմաստի այսպիսի զարգացում ցոյց է տալիս տճև. top «գնդակ, խաղագնդակ, գնդաձև, թնդա-նօթ, բոլոր, միահաղոյն, խումբ, ժողո-վուած»։ Այսպիսի զարգացում կարող էր լի-նել նաև այստեղ, բայց այդ բանը տեղի ունե-ցած պիտի լինի իրանեանում և հայերը եր-կուսը իրարից իբրև բոլորովին անջատ բա-ռեր փոխ են առել։ Նոյն իսկ կարող է լինել, որ իրանեանում էլ այդ երկուսը բոլորովին անջատ բառեր լինին. • = Բնիկ հայ բառ՝ հնխ. bhel-, bhol-ար-մատից, -որ մասնիկով։ Այս արմատի հիմ-նական նշանակութիւնն է «ուռչիլ», որից յա-ռաջացել են մի կողմից «բարձրանալ, միւս կողմից «գնդաձև (ուռուցիկ) կերպարանք առնել» նշանակութիւնները և յետոյ էլ «մեծ, խոշոր, հաստ» իմաստը (տե՛ս Boisacq 1020)։ Հայերէնի մէջ «բարձրանալ» գաղա-փարից ունինք բլուր, որ կազմուած է հնխ. bλōl-ձևից՝ -ուր մասնիկով. իսկ «գնդաձև» գաղափարի համար ունինք գւռ. բուլ «խմո-հից կտրուած մէկ գունտ, որ մի հաց կդառ-նայ» (>Ազլ. բիւլ, Ջղ. բ'ուլ, Գնձ. Ղրբ. Շմ. պիւլ)։ Այնուհետև «կլոր (գնդաձև») գաղա-փարը դարձել է «կլոր (բոլորակաձև)»։ (Այս երկու գաղափարները շատ յաճախ են շփոթ-ւում ւեզուների մէջ. աշխարհաբարի մէջ կլոր թէ՛ «բոլորակ» է և թէ՛ «գնդաձև». այսպէս է նոյն իսկ ֆրանս. rond. տե՛ս և գինդ բառի տակ)։ Այս իմաստով է կազմուած բոլ-որ. Մասնիկների յաւելման մէջ կայ ձայնավոր-ների նմանութիւն. bhol->բոլ-որ և bhōl >*բուլ-որ>բլուր։ Վերջապէս «մեծ, խոշոր. հաստ» գաղափարի դէմ ունինք հյ. բոլոր «ամբողջ»։ Յեղակից ձևերից, որոնք շատ բազմաթիվ են (տե՛ս Pokorny 2, 177-4 Boisacq 1020, Ernout-Meillet 359), յիշենք 1) «ուռչիլ» իմաստից՝ հիռլ. bolach «ու-ռուցք», լտ. follis «ուռցրած պարկ, խառա-լու փամփուշտ», ռուս. болонa «ծառի վրայ աւռուցք» ևն. 2) «բարձրանալ» իմաստև ա-ծանցները տե՛ս վերը բլուր. 3) «գնդաձև» իմաստից՝ հբգ. ballo (*bhol-n) «գնդաև». bolōn «ոլորել, գալարել, պլորել» մբզ. boln նոյն նշ., bolle «գնդաձև աման», հիսլ. bollr «գնդակ», և վերջապէս 4) «մեծ՝ խո-շոր» իմաստից՝ շվեդ. bol «հաստ ու խոշոր, տժեղ», bál-stor «շատ մեծ (իբր բոլորովին ստուար)», հիսլ. blā «չափազանց, շատ»։ Հնխ. bhel-«ուոչիլ» իր համազօրն ունի bul-«ուռչիլ» արմատի մէջ. ուշադրութեան արժանի է յատկապէս հիսլ. bollr «ամոր-ձիք»=հյ. գւռ. պլոր նոյն նշ.։

(pied) bot «կուչ եկած (ոտք)», վալ-լոն. bott, իտալ. boto, ռում. but. butacīū «բութ», ռուս. botètь, butetь «հաստանալ, գիրանալ», սլ. buta «խոշոր գլխով մարդ, բթամիտ մարդ»։ Այս բառերից սլաւական խումբը ըստ Berneker 77 փոխառեալ է գերմանականից միւսների ծագումը պարզու-ած չէ։ Ըստ Pokorny 2, 127 գերմանական խումբն էլ ծագում է հնխ. bhaud-, bhūd-«զարնել, հրել» արմատից, որի համազօրն է հնխ. bhaut-, bhūt-«զարնել, հրել» (Po-korny 2, 125)։ Հյ. բութ ձևով համապա-տասխան երկրորդին, իսկ նշանակութեամբ առաջինին, դառնում է երկուսի միջին օղա-կը, աւելացնենք հատկապէս գւռ. բթել, բո-թել «հրել, մշտել», որ նոյն արմատների բայական իմաստն էլ պահում է։-Աճ.
