• ՆՀԲ համարում է «բառ այլազգական»։ Հիւբշ. ZDMG, 36, 129 և 46, 259 դնում է նոր պարսկերէնից։ Kraelitz-Grei-fenhorst, ՀԱ, 1911, էջ 262 հայ բառը ըստ Հիւբշ. պարսկերէնից փոխառեալ դնելուց յետոյ, հայերէնից փոխառեալ է դնում թրք. zil «ծնծղայ»։ (Բայց հայե-րէնի մէջ չկայ այսպիսի նշանակութիւն)։
