[arabic word] mihrgān (կամ արաբացեալ [arabic word] ︎ mihriiān) «պարսից եօթներորդ ամիսը, սեպտեմբեր, աշնանամուտ կամ աշուն, սեպ-տեմբեր 16-ին կատարուած մեծ տօն ի պա-տիւ Միհր աստուծոյ»։ Այս բոլորը ծագում է պհլ. Mihr (գրուած է [other alphabet] Mitru), պրս. [arabic word] mihr բառից, որ Միհր աստու-ծոյ անունն է և նշանակում է նաև «պարս-կական եօթներորդ ամիսը», որ նուիրուած էր Միհրին. հմմտ. պրս. [arabic word] mihri-Gāh, mihrmāh «սեպտեմբեր ամիսը»։-Չայնական փոփոխութեանց համար հմմտ. մեհեան (Միհր բառից) և ահեկան<պհլ. *aϑrakān, *ahrakān։-Իրանականից է փո-խառեալ նոյնպէս վրաց. მიჭრაკნი միհրակ-նի ամսանունը (Մառ, Փизiолотъ 1904, էջ xxxVII)։-Հիւբշ. 194։
• Հներից Վանակ. տարեմ. և Տաթև հարց. 201 ստուգաբանում են. «Մահե-կի, զի տունկք և բոյսք որպէս զմեռեալ լինին եղեմնապատ և ձիւնաթաղ. մահ եկի, այսինքն ածի»։ Տաթև. ձմ. ա. մեկ-նում է «Մեհեկի՝ զմոլորութիւն հրէիցն ասէ, զի հրէայքն մոլորութեամբ կու-ոացան»։ Միհր բառից է դնում Bottich ZDMG 1850, 365։-Lag. Ges Abba Չ և Beitr. baktr. lex. 48 իբր պրս. mihrigān։ -Կոստանեան, Հայ. հեթ. կրօնը, Վղրշպտ. 1879, էջ 27 դնում է միհրական, Միհր աստուծոյ անունից, «որի ընդարձակ ժողովրդականութիւնը երևում է և այն տօնից, որ կատարւում է փետրվ. 13-ին (Մեհեկան ամիս) Տէ-րընտազ անունով»։ Ալիշան, Հին հաւ. էջ 103 պրս. māh «լուսին» բառի հետ. իսկ էջ 141 նաև Մահեան, Մեհնդակ յա-տուկ անունները, Խաչկոնց, Բիւր. 1898 թ. 4 կցում է հաթ. ma «լուսին աստ-ուածուհե»։ Benyeniste REA IK։ (1929), էջ 10 աւելի լաւ ճշտելով բառիս ձևը՝ դնում է մեհե(կան)<իրան. māiϑ-rya-։ է Մագ. գամագտ. ժե. «Ջի մի՛ մախիզ մնաս ցէ մթերեալ մեհենջանք՝ ձանձեալ աստուստ յՌեստոփանէ»։
• Նորագիւտ բառս գտաւ ու մեկնեց (ըստ Հին բառ.) Մէնէվիշեան ՀԱ 1911. 219, միանգամայն մատնանիշ անելով մեհևանդ և ապարանջանք բառերը։
