Գրքի միւս մասերը չու-նին)։ Խօսքի վերջը դրուելով՝ ամէն նշանա-կում է «այո՛, այդպէս է և այդպէս թո՛ղ լի-նի» (4 անգամ Հին կտակարանում, 36 ան-գամ Նոր կտակարանում, որոնցից մէկը մի-այն Աւետարանում, այն է Մտթ. զ. 13)։ Եր-բեմն էլ թարգմանուած է հյ. եղիցի (կամ կրկնեեալ). ինչ. Օր. իէ. 16=26, Թիւք ե. 22։ Իբր գոյական՝ ամէն նշանակում է «ճշմար-տութիւն». Այսպէս ասէ ամէնն. Յայտ. Գ. 14։
• = Եբր. [hebrew word] āmē̄n «ստոյգ, ճշմարիտ. այդպէս եղիցի», որ ծագում է [hebrew word] š amn «հաստատ՝ իրական լինել» արմատից։ Հրէից մէջ սովորութիւն էր՝ որ ամէն հասարակա-կան աղօթքից, մաղթանքից ու անէծքից յե-տոյ ամբողջ ժողովուրդը միաբերան գոչում էր ամէն, այսինքն թէ «այո՛, ճշմարիտ է, թո՛ղ այդպես լինի»։ Եւ այնքան մեծ նշա-նակութիւն էին տալիս այս բառին, որ բուն աղօթքից աւելի զօրաւոր էին համարում. և ասում էին՝ որ եթէ մէկը ամբողջ սրտով «ամէն» գոչէր, երկնքի դռները կբացուէին։ Այս սովորութիւնը հրեաներից անցաւ քրիս-տոնեաներին. եկեղեցիներում մինչև անգամ ևար մի առանձին պաշտօնեայ՝ որ պարտա-կանութիւն ուներ «ամէն» ասելու համար ժո-ղովուրդին նշան տալու։ Երբ աղօթքը վեր-ջանում էր, նա թաշկինակը շարժում էր և ամբողջ ժողովուրդը «ամէն» էր կանչում։ Այս սովորութիւնը տևեց մինչև Ե դար։ Հե-րոնիմոս պատմում է թէ երբ ժողովուրդը միաբերան «ամէն» էր գոչում, որոտման ձայնի նման դղրդում էր եկեղեցին։ Անկար-գութեան տեղիք չտալու համար՝ հետզհետէ վերացուեց այս սովորութիւնը և որոշուեց որ սարկաւագը միայն «ամէն» ասի։ (Տե՛ս Ա. և. տիքեան, Մեկն. թղթ. Պօղոսի, Ա. էջ 961)։ Եբրայական բառը փոխառութեամբ տարա-ծուեց բոլոր քրիստոնէական, ինչպէս և մահ-մետական ժողովուրդների մէջ. ինչ. արաբ. [arabic word] āmīn, յն. ἀμήν, լտ. ֆրանս. ևն amen, ռուս. аминь, վրաց. ამინ ամին ևն։ Մեր բառը տառադարձուած է յունարէնից։ -հիւբշ. էջ 340։
• Հներից Խոսր. 10 մեկնում է. «Ամէնն եբրայեցի բարբառով այո՛ և արդարև». դարձեալ էջ 115 «Յեբրայականէն ի մերս ամէնն եղիցի թարգմանի. ասի և է և ստոլգ և ճշմարիտ»։ Լամբրոնացին.
