• = Թերևս բնիկ հայ բառ՝ կրկնուած հնխ. drem-«քնել, ննջել» արմատից, իբր *տատ-բամ, *տատարմ >տարտամ. հմմտ. ւա-dormio «քնել. 2. անգործ՝ դատարկ լինել». հսլ. drêmati, լեհ. drzemac, ռուս. дремать «նիրհել, թմրիլ, անհոգ լինել»։ Այս արմատը աճած է -m-աճականով՝ պարզական dre-«քնել» արմատից, որից ունինք սանս. drálί dráyati «քնել» և ni նախամասնիկով ni-drá «քուն» (որի իրանեան համապատասխան ձևից է փոխառեալ հյ. նիրհ, որով նիրհ և տարտամ միևնոյն բառերն են լինում)։ Նոյն արմատից -dh-աճականով կազմուած է յն. ὄαρϑάνω «քնել» (Pokorny 1, 821, Berneker 223, Walde 243)։ Կազմութեան համար տե՛ս նաև տրտում։
• ՆՀԲ լծ. լտ. tardum «ծոյլ, դանդաղ» բառի հետ։ Justi, Dict. Kurde 96 քրդ. tertilin «տատանիլ, երերալ» և արաբ. [arabic word] tartara։ Canini, Et. étym. 142 ռանս. dardha «հաստատուն»։ Հիւնք. տարմ բառից։ Bugge, Beitr. 33 ցե-ղակից լտ. tardus «դանդաղ» բառին, որ չի ընդունում Walde 764։ Աճառ. ՀԱ 1899. 235 համարում է կրկնուած տարմ պարզական արմատից, որի հետ նոյն է տարմ «երամ» (նշանակութեան տար-բերութիւնը չի թոյլ տալիս այսպիսի նոյնացում)։ Վերի մեկնութիւնը տուաւ Pedersen, Հայ. դր. լեզ. 132, որ ըն-դունում են Walde 243 և Pokorny 1, 821։
• ԳՒՌ.-Սռանից է տաղտամ «անդուրեկան, ձանձրալի (մարդ)», որ գործածական է Հայթաղ և շրջակայք (Ամատունի, Հայոց բառ ու բան 616)։
