[syriac word] ︎ kalmīr «կարմիր»)։ Նոյ-նից փոխառեալ է նաև եբր. [hebrew word] karmil «որդանի կարմիր գոյնը և նրանով ներկուած բան». հմմտ. նաև սանս. kirmira։ Բոլորի արմատն է պրս.
