Մագ. թղ. 204, խաշոր Տիմոթ. կուզ, էջ 32 (ճանապարհի անհար-թութեան համար ասուած)։-Գաւառական-ների և արդի գրական լեզուի մէջ խոշոր նշանակում է «մեծ, աւելի՝ կոպիտ կերպով մեծ»։ Բառիս հետ նոյն են խոժոռ (տե՛ս այս բառը առանձին), խշուր «փշրանք, մանրուք» ՀՀԲ. «փոքր, սակաւ, քիչ» Բառ. երեմ. էջ 142 և 146. «բոյսերի սէզ կամ ճիլ՝ որով փաթաթում են նոր պատուաստուած տուն-կերը» Վստկ. 130, 138 (երկուսն էլ գըծ. խշրով, որից էլ Վաստակոց գրոց հրատա-րակիչը՝ էջ 247 և ՀԲուս. § 998 դնում են ուղ. խշր! մինչդեռ խշուր ձևը գտնում ենք հենց գաւառականների մէջ). խշրել «փշրել, մանրել» ՀՀԲ. «կոխել, փշրել» Բառ. երեմ. էջ 146. թերևս նաև խեշերանք «բեկորներ» Յհ. իմ. պաւլ։

Հմշ. խօշէօր, Սեբ. խօշէր, Ասլ. խէօշօ՜՝ր, Զթ. խիւշիւյ, խիւշիւր, Հճ. խուշոյ, Տփ. խօժօր (տե՛ս և խոժոռ բա-ռի տակ). այս բոլորը նշանակում են «մեծ. խիստ մեծ» և այս իմաստով էլ ընդունուած է արդի գրական լեզուի մէջ. որի համեմատ էլ կազմուած է խոշորացոյց բառը։ Շատ ճետաքրքրական ձև է Ղրբ. խա՛շար «լայն ծակերով հիւսուած (շոր, քամիչ ևն)», որ ներկայացնում է հին հայերէնի խաշար գըր-չութիւնը։-Այս բառից կազմուած նոր ձևեր են խոշորիկ, խոշորկեկ, խոշրիլ, խոշրուկ, խոշրուկապուր, խոշորտանք, խսշրտուք, խոշրունք, խոշրունքոտ ևն։-Նոյն արմա-տին յարակից ձևեր են նաև՝ խշուր Երև. Լ Ղզ. Ղրբ. «ցախի՝ փայտի մանր կտորներ՝ որ կպչան են անում», Ղրբ. «պտուղ ուտե-լու ժամանակ՝ հաւաքուած կեղևները և կր-ճեպները», Ալշ. Մշ. «փշրանք», խշուր-մշուր, խշուր-փշուր «խռիւ, փայտի կտորտանք». խշուր-փշուր լինել Ղզ. «փշրուիլ», խշրել Ալշ. Մշ. «մանր ջարդել», Ղզ. «փշրել, ման-բել», Երև. «վատնել, փչացնել», խրշել Սվ «մանրել», խշրիլ Եւդ. «մանրւիլ, փշրուիլ», խշրուք Ալշ. Եւդ. • Թիրեաքեան, Արիահայ բռ. 183 պրս. [arabic word] xūr, [arabic word] xura «վեհութիւն, վսե-մութիւն» բառից։ Վարդանեան ՀԱ 1924, 68 հասեանում է «ախոռապետ» և նռան է կցում խոռակալ հոմանիշը ինչպէս կարդում է Բուզանդի սորակալ բառը. այսպէսով խոռ դառնում է ախոռ բառի մէկ ուրիշ ձևը. բայց այսպիսի ձև չկայ ո՛չ հայերէնի մէջ և ո՛չ էլ իրանեան որևէ լեզուի մէջ. Նահապետեան, Բազմ. 1924, 199 շահխորապետ հասկանում է «ար-քունի դպրապետ»՝ կապելով խուրի բառին, որ տե՛ս։

• ԳՒՌ.-Արդի ժողովրդական լեզւում շատ սովորական դարձաւ խուժան ձևը։ Բառիս առաջին իմաստն էր «թալանչի ամբոխ՝ որ դնում էր ջարդարար խմբերի յետևից». յե-տոյ դարձաւ ընդհանրապէս «փողոցային մարդ կամ երախայ», և այժմ գործածական է իբրև նախատական ածական։ Մի քանի աարի առաջ՝ դրամական անկայունութեան մի-ջոցին, այսպէս էին կոչւում նաև մանրարժէք թղթադրամները։ Ոսկու կուրսի վերահաստա-տումով այս վերջին իմաստը վերացաւ։
