• ՓՈԽ.-Ցոյները և ռումինացիք ունին ար-ցիվո՛ւրիօն (άρτζιβούριον), արցի՛վուրցի (άρτζίβουρτζι), արթէզֆօռթէզ ևն ձևով բա-ռեր, որոնք փոխառեալ և յարմարեալ են մեր Առաջաւորաց Պահոց անունից, որի վրայ այ-լակերպ առասպելներ են պատմում։ Առաս-պելի հնագոյն վիճակը գտնում ենք Ճառ ընդ-դէմ Հայոց խորագրով յունարէն ընդարձակ մի գրուածքի մէջ, որ վերագրւում է ԺԱ-ԺԲ դարից Սահակ անուն մի հայ կաթուղիկոսի, բայց հաւանօրէն Եւտեմիոսի (ԺԲ դարից) կամ Կալլիստոսի (ԺԴ դարից) խարդախու-թիւնն է (տպ. Migne, Patr. gr. հտ. 132)։ Այս Ճառի մէջ մի առանձին գլուխ կայ՝ որի վերնագիրն է Γερί τῆς σατανιϰῆς νηστείας τοῦ αρτζιβουρίον (Յաղագս դիւական պահոց արցիվուրի, Ա. գլ. ժդ)։ Ահա թէ ի՛նչ է պատմւում յիշեալ գլխում. «Սարգիս անու-նով մէկը, Հայոց մոլորութեան վարդապետ, մի շուն ունէր արցիվուր անունով։ Սակայն այս բառը նշանակում է «առջևից գնացող» (առաջաւոր)։ Սարգիսը սատանայի ազդեցու-թեամբ այս շունը գործ էր ածում իբրև իր ռաւստեան աւետաբեր և յայտարար, ամէն անգամ՝ երբ մի գիւղ, մի քաղաք կամ մի ուրիշ տեղ երթար, ուր իր մոլորութեան ժան-տախտից բռնուած աշակերտներ էին բնա-կում։ Երբ սրանք տեսնում էին շանը, յա-ջորդ օրը թափորով մի քանի մղոն տեղ ընդ առաջ էին գնում իրենց վարդապետին։ Մի անգամ՝ երբ շանը սովորական պաշտօնով մի տեղ ուղարկեց, գայլերը ճանապարհին պատառեցին նրան։ Սարգիսը երկրորդ օրը գնալով նոյն տեղը և տեսնելով որ ոչ ոք իրեն ընդ առաջ չի եկել, ինչպէս սովորութիւն էր, սաստիկ բարկացաւ։ Երբ քաղաք մտնելով ի-հասած, մարդիկ ուղարկեց փնտռելու համար և գտնուած ոսկորներից գուշակելով թէ գայ-լերն են կերել, հրամայեց ամենայն Հայոց՝ որ ամէն տարի, սահմանեալ օրեր, նրա մահուան համար ծոմ պահեն ու մեծ սուգ բռնեն. և այս պասը կոչեց արցիվուրց պաս»։-Նոյն առաս-պելը գտնում ենք նաև Աֆթիմիոս Սեկտատի-նոսի Զէն կատարեալ գրքում. Նիկեֆորոս Կալսթասի Պատմութեան և Աթէնքի Միլե-տիոս արքեպիսկոպոսի Եկեղեցական պատ-մութեան մէջ, որ Ջենատիոս Սքոլարիոս սար-կաւագի ձեռքով համառօտուելով տպուած է նախ Զմիւռնիա (1861) և յետոյ արաբերէն թարգմանութեամբ՝ Երուսաղէմ (1867), այն ժամանակի յունաց Երուսաղէմի պատրիարք Կիւրեղի հրամանով։ Սրա իններորդ գլխի թարգմանութիւնն ունի Երուսաղէմի Սիօն ամ-սագիրը (Չ տարի, 1871, մայիս, թիւ 5, էջ 100), ուր մեր բառը դարձել է յն. արթէզֆոո-թէզ կամ արթէզֆոռ։ Առասպելի մի ուրիշ ձևն ունին ռումինա-ցիք, որոնց մէջ բառը դարձել է արցիվուրցի։ Ռումին առասպելի մէջ արցիվուրցի է կոչւում մի հայ աւագերէցի շունը։ Աւագերէցը անտա-ռով անցնելիս մոլորուել և այդ շան միջոցով կարողացել է գտնել ճանապարհը։ Հայերը աւդ շունը սրբերի կարգն են դասել և ի պա-տիւ նրա՝ Ս. Սարգսի բարեկենդանին պաս են պահում և Զատկի թաթախման երեկոյին էլ նրան նուիրուած մի տօն են կատարում (տե՛ս Պ. քհ. Մամիկոնեան, Ռումանահայոց ներկան և ապագան, Կալաց 1895, էջ 44-45)։

• Ուղիղ մեկնեց նախ Աւետիքեան, Քերակ. 1815, 314, որ փոխառեալ է դնում պրս. սիփէր ձևից։ ՆՀԲ «լծ. յն. ἀστίς, պրս. ևսփէր, սիփէր, հյ. պատսպար և հովա-նի»։ Ուղիղ են նաև Muller SWAW 42, 253 և Justi, Zendsp. 303։-Jensen ՀԱ 1904, 184 հաթեան արձանագրութեանց մէջ գտնելով ..ri կամ ...ar «մահան» ձևոմ մի բառ, կարծում է թէ մեր աս-պարն է և չի ընդունում որ հայերէնը ի-րանեանից փոխառութիւն լինի։

Սեբ. «խմորի (կամ նտև կարագի) գունտ», Հմշ. «ընկոյզի ամ-բողջ դուրս եկած միջուկը», Պլ. «գնտաձև դի-զած», կամ «խոշոր կտորով», Հմշ. Մշ. Ոզմ. Վն. «սայլի, ճախարակի, գութանի և ջաղաց-քի անիւ, մանաւանդ անիւի գունդ մասը, որի մէջ անցած է սռնին», Ալշ. կունդ, յգ. կընդ-ներ «սայլի ակ»։ Այս վերջինը գործածւում է նաև կ նախաձայնով. այսպէս՝ հին մատե-նագրութեան մէջ կունտ, կունտն, նոր բաբ-բառներից Ոզմ. կօնտ։ Այս հանգամանքը կարող էր կարծել տալ թէ կունտ «անիւ» տարբեր բառ է. բայց հմմտ. գւռ. թրք. top (թօփ) «սայլի անիւ», որ բուն նշանակում է «գունդ, գնդաձև» և գործածական է նաև մի քանի հայ գաւառականների մէջ (օր. Ղրբ)։ Սրանցից դուրս ունինք նաև Ասլ. Պլ. գունղ և Ռ. քունդ «բթամիտ» նշանակութեամբ, ո-սից յատկապէս գունդգլուխ «հաստագլուխ, բթամիտ»։ Բառիս հետ համաձայն է գալիս պրս. [arabic word] kund «բութ, գուլ, հաստ, ոչ-սուր (դանակի համար գործածուած). 2. կորովի, քաջ, զօրաւոր», որից փոխառեալ են չաղաթ. [arabic word] ︎ qund«խոշոր, կոշտ, ծանր», օսմ. kund «ուժեղ, զօրաւոր», ույգուր. kóndek «կոշտ. տձև». ալթալ. kund «կոշտ, ուժեղ, բիրտ» (տե՛ս Vámbery, Etym. Wört. էջ 97), արե-վել. թրք. [arabic word] kund «կոշտ, ծանր» (Pavet de Court. Dict. Turc-Or.)։ Պարսկերէն բա-ռի հետ համեմատւում է սանս. kantha-«գուլ» (Horn, § 868). և որովհետև Ասլ. Պլ. գունդ ձևը կարող է ծագած լինել նաև կունտ ձևից, ուստի կարելի է կարծել, որ կունտ փո-խառեալ է պրս. kund բառից, իբրև բոլորո-վին տարբեր բառ՝ ծանօթ գունդ բառից։ Այս խնդիրը կարօտ է մեկնութեան։-Գունդ նշա-նակում է նաև «մահմետականների մարգա-րէն՝ Մահմետ» և այս իմաստով իբրև ծած-կալեզու գործածական է Պօլսի բարբառում (անշուշտ գլխին կապած փաթթոցի ձևից առնուած). սրա հին վկայութիւններն ունին Շնորհ. եդես. էջ 59 (Թէ ոչ ուժով իւրոյ բազ-կին կամ զօրութեամբ իւր պիղծ կընտին) և 1567 թուին Կաֆա գրուած վկայաբանական մի գրուածք (Դարձեալ տարան տունն գըն-տին, ուր սոխտաներն բնակէին). Նոր վկ. էջ 405։-Նոր բառեր են՝ գունդուկծիկ, գուն-դուկլոր, գունդուկ, գունդուլ, գունդուլուկ, գունդուկոլոշ, գնդալիւր, գնտագազ, գնտիկ, գնտիչ, գնտլել, գնտլիկ, գնտոց, գունդա-պուր.-տ>ծ ձայնափոխութեամբ ձևացած են՝ գնծիկ, գունծիկ, գունծուլ, գունձուլ։

• (յետնաբար ի-ա հլ.) «պատգա-րակ, մահճակալ». մէկ անգամ գործածուած է ոսկեդարեան մատենագրութեան մէջ՝ «Հրա-մայեաց բերել դարգիճս երկաթիս և ընկե-նուլ ի վերայ կայծականց հրոյ ի վայր զե-րեսսն» (ըստ Վարդանեան, ՀԱ, 1920, 453). այս օրինակը գործածուած է վկայաբանա-կան մի պատառիկում, որ հրատարակեց Ա-կինեան, Աբերկ. էջ 47։ Չորս անգամ էլ գըտ-նում ենք յետնաբար գործածուած. Յայսմ. յունիս 6. Յայնժամ բերին դարգիճս երկաթի և կրակացուցին զայն որպէս զհուր և արկին զսուրբն ի վերայ զերեսն ի վայր. Վարք և վկ. Բ. էջ 314-5.
