• ՓՈԽ.-Lag. Urgesch. 734 համարում է թէ Թալմուդի մէջ մտած եբր. [hebrew word] kōy օտա-րազգի բառը հայերէնից է։ Նոյնը կրկը-նում են նաև Lag. Arm. Stud. § 1002 և -իւբշ. 305։-Pedersen KZ 40, 200, ZDMG 57(1903), էջ 561 և Հայ. դր. լեզ. էջ 179-185 մի ընդարձակ քննութիւն ունի բառիս փոխառեալ ձևերի վրայ։ Pedersen նախ հայ բառը համեմատելով իռլ. cit, cetnait «ոչ-խար» բառի հետ՝ հանում է հնխ. qhoti ձե-վից։ Խոյ անցել է թուրք լեզուներին՝ ուղ. *koli և հյց. *kolin ձևերով. առաջինից լա-ռաջացած է Օրխանեան արձանագրութեան koi «ոչխար» բառը, իսկ երկրորդից՝ օսմ. qoуun «ոչխար», որից էլ մոնգոլ. xoni, xo-nin, մանչու. honin, թունգուզ. koγin. (Бy-дaговъ 2, 97 դնում է մոնգոլ. xoy «ոչ-խար»)։ Հնխ. qhoti ձևի մօտ կար նաև qho-tlu ձևը, որից յառաջացաւ հյ. *խոչ, որ յե-տոյ կորաւ։ Այս *խոչ բառից են փոխառեալ օսմ. qoc «խոյ», տրից էլ մոնգոլ. xuca, ման-չու. kóča, թունգուզ. kuca։ Հայ. *խոչ ստա-նալով ն յօդը և սրա առաջ չ ձայնը կակղե-լով՝ ձևացաւ խաշն<*խաչն. իսկ խ և ար մասնիկներով *խոչխար>*հոչխար>ոչխար. Կորած *խոչխար ձևից են փոխառեալ չաղա-թայ. kočkar և արևել. թրք.
