• -Յն, αὶοεοιώτης, լգ. αὶρεσῖῶται «հերե-տիկոս». կազմուած է αἰρεσης բառից, որ նշանակում է «առնելը, գրաւում. 2. ընտ-րութիւն. 3. նախընտրութիւն. 4. մասնա-ւոր ուսումնասիրութիւն. 5. գրական, բը-ժըշկական, փիլիսոփայական դպրոց, և վեր-ջապես 6. առանձին կրօնական հերձուած». բուն արմատը αἰρέω «բռնել, գրաւել, ընտ-րել ևն»։ Յունարէնից փոխառեալ են նաև լտ. haeresis, ասոր. [syriac word] heresiotā «հերձուածող, աղանդաւոր» ևն։-Հիւբշ. 361։
