Վարդանեան, ՀԱ 1910, 369 ա, դտաւ նաև մի երկրորդ վկա-յութիւն այս բառի համար. «Որպէս ագռոյ հարկանել զգլուխ նորա «(Վարք Գէորգայ. էջ 32), որ փոքրիկ սրբագրութեամբ կար-դում է ագռով։
• = պրս. ❇ agūr «աղիւս». բնիկ սե-մական է, ուստի և պարսկերէնն էլ փոխա-ռեալ մի սեմական լեզուից. հմմտ. ասուր. agurru, ասոր. [arabic word] agurā, արաբ. [arabic word] aǰur կամ [arabic word] ajūr, որից քրդ. [arabic word] aǰūr «աղիւս». պարսկերէնից են նաև վրաց. ա-գուրի «աղիւս», ագուրխանա «աղիւսի գոր-ծարան», ափխազ. անգուր, մինգր. անգու-րա, սվան. անգուրյ, թուշ. ագուր, բոլորն էլ «աղիւս» նշանակութեամբ։-Հիւբշ. 91, 510։
• ՀՀԲ և ՋԲ առնելով հին բառարանից (հմմտ. Բառ. երեմ. էջ 5 «ագուռ. հաս. տատ») մեկնում են բառս «պինդ, անբե-կանելի», ուստի չունին «աղիւս» նշա-նակութիւնը։ Առաջին անգամ Հ. Յ. Աւ-գերեան, Չփ. և կշռ. էջ 41 պրս. aguր բառի համեմատութեամբ և Հարանս Վարքի լատին թարգմանութեան բառ-դատութեամբ՝ գտաւ թէ ագուռ նշանա-կում է «աղիւս» և «պինդ, անբեկանելի» իմաստը գոյութիւն չունի։ ՆՀԲ անտեղի կերպով միացնում է երկու նշանակու-թիւններն էլ, որին հետևում են նաև ՓԲ. ԱԲ և միւսները։ Lag. Ges. Abhd. 278 յն. ἀγουρος, ἂωρος «տարաժամ» (ան-տարակոյս «պինդ, բիրտ» նշանա-կութեան համար), որ յետոյ Arm. St. էջ 166 ցանկից մերժում է։
• ԳՒՌ.-Նբ. ագուռ, Տփ. ագուր. վերջինս նշանակում է նաև «խաղաթուղթի մէջ կար-միր գոյնով քառակուսի նշանը, օրիա, ֆր. carreau, ռուս. бубнь», ճիշտ ինչպէս որ նոյնը Ղրբ. կոչւում է ք'mրփիւճ (=թրք. ker-pij «աղիւս»)։
