Spra-chen, Dorpat, 1891, էջ 296-312 աշ-խատում է հաստատել թէ բոլոր ֆիններն էլ միևնոյն բառն ունին առհասարակ հունգ. kard «սուր, թուր» սրանց է պատ-կանում ըստ Donner, Հմմտ. բառ. ուգ-սօ-ֆիննական լեզուների, Helsing-fors, 1874-6։-Երկաթ բառին կովկա-սեան ծագում են տալիս նաև Toma-schek, Deutsche Litt. 1890, էջ 197 և Bugge, որ նախապէս (Btrg. էջ 14) հա-մարելով երվաթ նախաձևից՝ համեմա-տում էր գերմ. erz, հբգ. erizzi, aruz «արոյր» բառերի հետ. բայց յետոյ, (KZ 32, 54 և 83) այս կարծիքից հռա-ժարելով՝ համարում է կովկասեան փո-խառութիւն, Schrader-ի և Tomaschek-ի յիշած ձևերի վրայ աւելացնելով նաև կիւրին. raq «երկաթ», գրծ. raqu, ra-qini, ներգ. raqá, raqina, սոսվա-վօ-գուլ. ārgin, չերեմիս vörgēn'e, վօտյ. irgon, սիրյ. urgōn «պղինձ», horgany «ցինկ»։-Հիւնք. յն. έργάτις «մշակ, աշխատաւոր, գործաւոր» բառից է հա-նում։-Մառ, ИАН, 1911, 137-145 լազ. erkina, ekina, ikina, վրաց. რკინა րկինա, კინა կինա ևն դնում է յաբեթ.

(տե՛ս Բիւր. 1898, 712, 1899, 116 և Յուշարձան, 330ա)։ Հայերէնից են նոյնպէս ռուս. кoчeprá «փու-ռի կամ հնոցի կրակը խառնելու երկաթեայ ևեռ». ուկր. kocérha, kucurha, լեհ. koczar-ga, գւռ. koczerka, kaczerka, koczerga, koc-zerha, koszor, kosior և Սպիտակ ռուսևտէնի միջոցով լիթ. kaczárga նոյն նշ.-այս բա-ռերի ծագումը Berneker, Slawisches ety-mologisches Wörterbuch, էջ 536 համարում է մութ և թերևս օտար փոխառութիւն։ Փո-խատուն է հայերէնը կա՛մ ուղղակի և կա՛մ թերևս թաթարների միջոցով։ Յատկապէս նը-կատելի է որ հյ. բառի կ ձայնը վերոյիշեալ-ների մէջ ներկայանում է թէ՛ k և թէ նորա-գոյն (արևմտեան) g հնշումով։ -Արդեօք հայերէնի՞ց է առնուած նաև կապադովկ. յս. ngáthi «հալոցից դուրս եկած մաքուր փայ-լուն երկաթ» (որ թուրքերը polát են կոչում և որից պատրաստում են հրահան, դանակ, սուր ևն).
