Արդ արմատը ունի նաև «արած բանը, կատարած գործը, վաստակ, իր» նշանակութիւնը, հմմտ. վարը՝ ցեղակից ձևերը. այս նշանա-կութիւնը գտնում ենք արդիւն բառի մէջ, որ կազմուած է իւն մասնիկով (հմմտ. շար-ժիւն «շարժում» Յոբ. լթ. 23, հնչիւն ՍԳր. ևն). արդիւն (սեռ. -դեան, գրծ. -դեամբ, -դեամբք. սովորաբար անեզական, որի հա-մար էլ արդի լեզւում ասւում է արդիւնք) բուն նշանակում է «գործ, արած բանը» ՍԳր. Ոսկ. Եզն. Կորիւն. Սեբեր. և յետոյ, «բերք, արմտիք, երկրագործութեան ար-դիւնքը» ՍԳր. Եփր. Եբր. Ոսկ. Կողոս. (ճիշտ ինչպէս ունինք արգասիք «գործ, արդիւնք և բերք, արմտիք»). սրանից ածանցւած են՝ արդիւնագործ Սեբեր. արդիւնակատար Կո-րիւն. արդիւնարար «պտղաբեր» Ոսկ. յհ. ա. 17. Եղիշ. դտ. «երկրագործ, մշակ» ՍԳո. Կոչ. Եփր. Եբր. արդիւնական Փիլ. արդիւնա-կանաւոր Եւագր. ոճով ասւում է լարդիւնս ածել Ոսկ. Եփես. ճիշտ ինչպէս ունինք ի զարդ և ի յարդ և ի կերպարանս ածել Եզն. նոր գրականի մէջ ապարդիւն, արդիւնաւէտ ևն։ (Kivola, Բառ. Հայոց 1633, էջ 39 դնում է արդիունք «vasa sacra aurca et arxentca». ինչ որ նոյն է ՆՀԲ արդիւնք «ինչք, գոյք, կարասիք»)։-Արդիւն բառի գործիականը արդեամբ և մանաւանդ յոգնակին՝ արդեամբք գործածւում է մակբայաբար «իրօք, իս-կապէս, գործնապէս, գործով» նշանակու-թեամբ, որ նոյն է «ստոյգ, շիտակ, ճշմա-րիտ» նշանակութեան հետ։-⦿. Արդեամբ բառի այս գործածութիւնը նոյնանում է ճիշտ մեր արդեօք բառի հետ, որ հների մօտ ոռա-կան մտքով գործածուելով նշանակում է «իրօք, արդարև, իսկապէս, յիրաւի» ՍԳր. Ոսկ. յհ. բ. 1, Փարպ. իսկ հարցական գոր-ծածութեամբ «մի՞թէ» (բուն՝ իրա՞ւ, իրա՞ւ է որ) ՍԳր. Եղիշ. (արդի գրականում դրական գործածութիւնը իսպառ դադարել է և մնում է միայն հարցական մտքով)։ Սակայն այս արդիօք ձևը իրապէս գործիական հոլով է և ենթադրում է հնագոյն ուղ. *արդի «գործ» բառը. (նրա աւելի հին ձևերն են արղևք, արդեաւք, կայ նաև արդիւք Եփր. համաբ. 87, 201, 225, աւետ. 276. նշանակութեան համար հմմտ. արդեամբք, ձևի համար հմմտ. ձևք, մևք, ձեօք, մեօք գործիականները)։
