Յ. Փ. (Մասիս 1881 մայիս 1) դնելով պատարագ= պրս. պէտրագա «ապացոյց, առաջնորդ ճանապարհի Տեառն»։ Մ. Գալուստ Թի-ռաքեան, անդ մայիս 7, ցոյց է տալիս որ պէտրէգա արաբերէն է, ուստի և ան-յարմար. իսկ ինքը պատարագ դնում է պրս. badargāh «սեամ կամ դուռն թա-գատրաց»։ Սրա վրայ ընդդիմառանում են Տէրվ. (մայիս 25, յունիս 2) և Թի-ռաքեան (մայիս 30, յունիս 11), առա-ջինը պնդելով թէ երկու մեկնութիւն-ներն էլ սխալ են, իսկ երկրորդը աշ-խատելով հաստատել իր առաջարկած մեկնութիւնը։-Երկրորդ վիճաբանութիւ-նո բացաւ Մերկերիոս Ադամեան, Արրտ. 1898, 183-6, որ բառը համարում է փոխառեալ արաբ. ֆատիր ձևից՝ աճած պրս. ակ նուազական մասնիկով, իբր ֆատիրակ «բաղարջիկ»։ Դ. Խաչկոնց, Բեւր. 1898, 415 անհնար է ոտնում Ե դարուն արաբական փոխառութիւն. ու-րիշ խնդիր եթէ բառը ասոր. կամ արամ. ւինէր։ Բասմաջեան, Բիւր. 1898, 435 ասոր. փատիրա «անխմոր հաց, բա-ղարջ» ձևից, իբր նոյն ընդ արաբ. iftār «ճաշակել, ճաշի սկսիլ»։ Աճառ. Առռտ. 1898, 485-6 ցոյց է տալիս տր պատա-րագ բառի առաջին և նախաքրիստո-նէական նշանակութիւնն է «նուէր, ըն-ծայ», ուստի չի կարող ծագիլ «բաղարջ ևն» նշանակող ձևերից, որոնք յետին օրիստոնէական շրջանի առումներ են, բառի ձևը ցոյց է տալիս որ իրանական փոխառութիւն է paiti-մասնիկով, իբրև պհլ. *patarag<զնդ. *paitiragayami «ընծայեմ, նուիրեմ»։ Կուրտիկեան, Մա-սիս 1898, թ. 130 սանս. պատարաքա
